Job Summary
The Clinical Research Assistant is an entry-level clinical role confined to on-site work in Houston, TX, supporting the Care Access Research process under the direction of the CRC. Responsibilities include following SOPs, participating in recruitment and pre-screening events, preparing outreach materials, identifying potential participants from medical records, conducting phone screenings, obtaining informed consent, assisting with protocol-driven visit procedures, collecting and processing specimens, data entry, updating trackers, assisting with payments and site logistics, and maintaining regulatory compliance (FDA/ICH). The role emphasizes independent work, strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to learn and grow toward a Clinical Research Coordinator role; bilingual Spanish capability is required, with travel within the region and minimal overnight travel.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 1-year recent working experience as a Medical Assistant, EMT, LPN, Clinical Research Assistant or Phlebotomist
- Phlebotomy Experience and Proficiency Required
- Some Clinical Research experience preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish required
- Comfort with FDA regulations and ICH guidelines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
