Job Summary
Clinical Project & Quality Improvement Lead responsible for managing clinical projects, quality initiatives, and safety programs across departments. Leads design, development, execution, and implementation of multiple outcome-improvement projects; facilitates teams, coaches diverse project teams, and develops comprehensive project plans with key drivers, diagrams, and performance metrics. Collaborates across departments to optimize workflow, analyzes performance data against benchmarks, and ensures regulatory compliance with internal standards and external agencies (e.g., The Joint Commission, OSHA, Department of Health). Investigates clinical event reports, promotes transparent reporting, and supports RCA-2 processes as needed. Serves as primary liaison to project teams, communicates progress to clinical and administrative staff, and disseminates knowledge to advance clinical science. Requires willingness to travel between Astera/Solara regional sites; strong emphasis on patient safety, quality, and high-reliability clinical operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or Health Science required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare required
- at least 2 years of dedicated project planning or performance improvement experience
- Experience as a clinician in an outpatient ambulatory setting strongly preferred
- Experience in statistics or clinical research is a plus
- CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety) or PMP (Project Management Professional), Oncology Nursing, or equivalent certification required at time of hire or within 1–2 years of hire
