Job Summary
Clinical Practice Specialist Nurse Educator supporting Medical Surgical, Float and IMCU. Leads efforts to develop and implement education opportunities for staff, supports staff to seek specialty certification, reviews unit/division dashboards, and partners with inter-professional teams to lead clinical process improvement. Responsibilities include planning and delivering unit-based education, competency assessment, simulations to enhance safety, updating policies and procedures, contributing to staff evaluations related to clinical competence, and participating in orientation and ongoing staff development. Collaborates with unit leadership and physicians to advance evidence-based practice guidelines and nursing practice, with a focus on just-in-time bedside teaching, mentor coaching, and contributing to annual education plans. This role emphasizes leadership in nursing education, quality improvement, safety culture, and inter-professional collaboration to promote high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Master's in Science in Nursing or to obtain within 4 years of assuming role
- Registered Nursing license issued by the State of Illinois
- Certified in related clinical area or to obtain when eligible
- 3-5 years’ experience in specific clinical area
- BLS through American Heart Association
