Job Summary
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of drug formularies, clinical utilization management criteria, and pharmacoeconomic/regulatory alignment to support P&T Committee decisions and cost-effective pharmaceutical care for plan members. Leads formulary development, formulary review coordination, MUEs for P&T, education programs for staff and learners, and ensures safe, effective medication use; interfaces with medical staff, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and management for performance appraisals and training. Requires PharmD, NY pharmacist license, and 1-3 years of technical experience, with preferred PGY1/PGY2 and managed care/benefits experience.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy is essential
- Current License to practice as a Pharmacist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed
- Bachelor of Pharmacy with 1 year internship required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- 1-3 years of technical experience, required
- PGY1 or PGY2 Preferred
