Clinical Pharmacy Specialist - Oncology Pharmacist $25,000 Sign-on bonus for Full-time

Job Summary

Review and process all medication orders to ensure patient safety, then deliver comprehensive clinical services including patient assessment, medication review, and education for specialty drug users. Monitor pharmacy workflow, supervise technical staff, and provide direct oversight to pharmacy students on rotation while utilizing barcode verification and automation software. Document clinical interventions, perform monthly unit inspections, and advise nursing staff on proper medication storage and handling. Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance medication safety and reduce risks within assigned coverage areas. Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and annual continuing education requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Alabama
  • Acquire license in 90 days
  • Be an Alabama pharmacy preceptor
  • Become a preceptor within six months
  • Developed an area of personal clinical practice
  • Commitment to maintain a level of practice well beyond that required of staff practitioners
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Completion of an ASHP Accredited PGY1
  • ASHP Accredited PGY2
  • Minimum of four years postgraduate experience in direct patient care in a specialty pharmacy environment
  • Credentialed as a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialty (BCPS)
  • Credentialed as a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP)
  • Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP)
  • Membership and active participation in professional pharmacy organizations
