Job Summary
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist provides general clinical pharmacy services including DUE development and reporting, teaching opportunities, and administration of research protocols. Responsible for compounding and dispensing medications, providing drug information and education to patients and care providers, optimizing medication therapy, monitoring for drug interactions, adjusting doses for renal/hepatic impairment and special populations, participating in anticoagulation management when applicable, and supporting formulary decisions and cost-effective care. Duties include mentoring new personnel, delivering in-service education, communicating with prescribers, managing inventory, participating in investigational drug processes, and supporting emergency response activities (Code Blue/Code Trauma). Requires PharmD or equivalent, Ohio licensure, and at least two years hospital experience, with strong communication and computer skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care aligned with Genesis Mission and values.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Ohio
- Pharmacy doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent
- At least two years experience in hospital or similar health system
- Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, conflict resolution and investigative skills
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a complex and changing working environment
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of computer software, including programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
