Job Summary
Overnight Inpatient Clinical Pharmacist responsible for reviewing and clarifying medication orders to ensure safe therapy, overseeing sterile and non-sterile medication preparation and dispensing, and delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care across neonatal through adult populations. Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, participates in medical emergencies, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. Utilizes pharmacy technology and drug information resources to support patient care and operational excellence, verifies product labeling, and supervises pharmacy technicians to promote safety and quality.
Required Qualifications
- Pharm.D. degree or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required
- Current Texas Pharmacist license and Pharmacy Preceptor license, or eligibility for licensure in the State of Texas, required
- Experience: Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency strongly preferred; equivalent hospital pharmacy experience (minimum 3 years) will be considered
- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care across neonatal through adult populations
- Oversee compounding, preparation, and dispensing of sterile and non-sterile medications
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in medical emergencies and provide clinical support as needed
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (TJC, OSHA, Medicare/Medicaid, Texas State Board of Pharmacy)
- Utilize pharmacy technology systems and drug information resources
- Verify accuracy of medication products and labeling
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians
- Education: Pharm.D. or B.S. in Pharmacy; licensure in Texas
