Job Summary

Review, interpret, and verify provider medication orders, making clinical interventions based on patient conditions, disease states, and age. Manage medication use including compounding, preparation, selection, dispensing, storage, and stocking for the entire organization. In a decentralized role, attend multidisciplinary rounds, conduct patient clinical reviews, and oversee operations in surgery, Infusion Center, Cancer Center, and Emergency Department. Design and lead pharmacy initiatives across finance, clinical, safety, automation, population health, and performance improvement. Address provider consults, provide drug information to healthcare professionals, and educate patients. Train pharmacy personnel and serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents. Complies with all policies, standards, and mandatory training requirements of Stormont Vail Health.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • 3 years Relevant acute care pharmacy experience
  • Successfully completed a Post Graduate-Year 1 accredited pharmacy practice residency
  • Successful completion of a Post Graduate Year 2 accredited pharmacy practice residency program
  • Pharmacist - KBP license
  • Licensed in Kansas within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support - BLS certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - ACLS certification
  • Vaccine Certification

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to apply advanced pharmaceutical mathematical concepts including but not limited to the following: pharmacokinetic calculations, Child Pugh score, Cockcroft- Gault calculations, and other pertinent calculations based on patient population
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
