Job Summary
Provide immediate, life-saving pharmacotherapeutic interventions in the Emergency Department during resuscitations, trauma activations, and stroke alerts. Deliver rapid, evidence-based recommendations on drug selection, dosing, and monitoring while managing complex toxicology cases and leading medication preparation. Collaborate with ED physicians and nurses to resolve drug-related problems, clarify unclear orders, and ensure medication safety. Precept pharmacy residents, interns, and students; contribute to quality improvement initiatives; and educate medical staff on cost-effective, evidence-based pharmaceutical care. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and participate in assigned committees. This role supports Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center's leadership in cardiovascular care, neuroscience, and oncology at the McNair Campus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- Residency completion or three (3) years of clinical experience
- Active Texas Pharmacist License in good standing
- Board Certification (e.g. BCCP, BCPS) required within 3 years of hire
- BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
