Job Summary
Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through drug distribution, clinical services and education within a hospital setting. Responsibilities include verifying medication orders using Cerner, supervising and mentoring technicians and interns, ensuring compliance with federal/state/local regulations, and contributing to pharmacy workflow improvements. Clinical duties cover patient monitoring, therapeutic recommendations aligned with guidelines and formulary, participation in CQI activities, ADR and medication error reporting, and staff education. Requires Pharm.D and hospital experience; licensure in California; BLS (and ACLS where applicable); per diem 12-hour day shifts in Los Angeles, CA; Keck Medicine of USC and USC Keck Hospital network. Preferred oncology experience or oncology residency.
Required Qualifications
- Pharm.D degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy
- 2 years hospital experience or completion of a residency program in a hospital setting
- License: Registered Pharmacist (CA DCA) with California State Board of Pharmacy
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association (Required for Hospital setting)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and evaluation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication with physicians, staff, and patients
