Job Summary

Interpret medication orders to ensure safety, resolve drug-related problems between pharmacy, nursing, and prescribers, and monitor therapy for significant interactions. Evaluate medication appropriateness, communicate solutions to prescribers, and act as a consultant on pharmacokinetics and adverse reactions. Process orders into the Electronic Health Record, maintain patient profiles, and oversee packaging, labeling, and distribution of medications including sterile products and chemotherapy. Verify orders before delivery, review laboratory data for medication use, and educate patients, families, and healthcare staff. Respond to emergency situations, participate in quality improvement activities, and maintain proficiency through continuous professional development. Work 20-hour days as a part-time Clinical Pharmacist licensed in Illinois.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Clinical Pharmacist license in the state of Illinois (IDFPR)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree

Desired Qualifications

  • Training and knowledge of specialty areas (neonatology, critical care, oncology, etc.)
  • Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent hospital pharmacy experience
