Job Summary
Clinical Pharmacist for night shift at Ben Taub Hospital. Responsibilities include interpreting and evaluating medication orders, supporting clinical decision-making, and performing key pharmacy functions such as order entry, pharmacokinetics, IV-to-PO conversions, and therapeutic interchange. You will participate in multidisciplinary rounds, provide direct patient care, and contribute to staff education and training. This role includes mentoring pharmacy interns, technicians, and residents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school
- Texas Pharmacist License (or must obtain within 90 days)
- Texas Pharmacist Preceptor Certification (within 180 days)
- ACPE IV Sterile Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (required for inpatient roles within 6 months)
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of progressive, relevant experience in outpatient/retail or inpatient hospital setting
- PGY1 residency highly preferred
- Strong written communication
