Job Summary
Clinical Pharmacist Lead in Medicine at Northwestern Medicine with responsibility for facilitating daily operations and delivery of high-quality pharmacy services within designated practice areas. Leads staff, supports training and development, troubleshoots daily issues with the Practice Coordinator, and helps optimize workflows to improve patient care and safety. Requires a Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent degree, Illinois pharmacist license, and at least 2 years of clinical/pharmacy operations experience; strong communication skills; involvement in regulatory compliance, medication safety initiatives, and education programs for pharmacists, fellows, residents, and students. The role emphasizes team-based care, leadership, and collaboration with pharmacy leadership to meet department objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited college of Pharmacy – Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
- Licensed Clinical Pharmacist in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Clinical Pharmacist
- Experience in managing operations, personnel, quality functions, and the professional aspects of pharmacy practice
- Evidence of effective communication skills both oral and written with all levels of internal and external customers
