Job Summary

Verify medication orders, assess optimal drug selection and dosage regimens, and design effective administration protocols. Facilitate medication reconciliation and monitor drug therapy while leading efforts to prevent and report medication errors and adverse drug reactions. Manage provision of care in accordance with EAMC policies, maintain competence in clean room operations and aseptic techniques, and ensure safe handling of hazardous medications per USP standards. Requires an active Alabama pharmacist license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited school of pharmacy
  • One year of hospital experience
  • Active and clear Registered Pharmacist license and Controlled Substance Permit from the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy
  • BLS within 90 DOH/Transfer
  • ACLS within 90 DOH/Transfer

Desired Qualifications

  • PharmD and PGY-1/ PGY-2 Residency Completion
  • 3-5 years of inpatient hospital pharmacy practice
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other applicable certification
