Job Summary
This float Pharmacist position staffs morning and afternoon shifts, rotating weekends and holidays, providing pharmaceutical care within multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include reviewing patients' medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, and appropriateness of drug therapy; delivering evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use; ensuring safe, appropriate, cost-effective therapies and timely dispensing; supervising interns, technicians, and support personnel; counseling patients and promoting medication education and adherence; ensuring regulatory and compliance training and documentation; and identifying safety hazards or process improvements while supporting department and system directives. The role requires Doctor of Pharmacy (or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy) and active licensure in the practice state, with knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, immunization certification if applicable, and experience or readiness for hospital-based healthcare delivery within an integrated system.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution (education verified).
- License to practice pharmacy in the state of practice and dispense controlled substances
- Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy in the state of practice.
- Effective communication, people management, and project management skills.
- Immunization certification if applicable to practice site needs
