Job Summary

Oversee pharmaceutical care in a high-volume ambulatory oncology setting by retrieving and evaluating biomedical literature to design and monitor patient-specific pharmacotherapeutic regimens. Provide counseling to patients and caregivers regarding medication therapy, adverse effects, and compliance while reviewing and interpreting medication orders. Manage formulary adherence, assist in acquiring non-formulary and investigational medications, and ensure proper storage and handling of drugs in compliance with state and federal regulations. Participate in medical emergency management, quality improvement activities, and medication safety reporting. Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and mentor teammates, while directing the accuracy of pharmacy support team workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' experience in adult outpatient oncology
  • infusion center workflow
  • Board Certified in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP)
  • Licensed in the state(s) of practice or eligible for reciprocity
  • Immunization and non-vaccine injectable certification
  • Credentialing and privileging
  • Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy
  • FPGEC certificate from NABP
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and training development skills
  • Demonstrates decision making, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution skills
  • Life support training courses
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds maximum
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds of material without assistance
  • Must have use of both hands
  • Must be able to see clearly and read small font
  • Must have functional speech, vision, and hearing
  • Must be able to perform manipulative skills such as writing, typing, and data entry into the computer and automated dispensing machines

Desired Qualifications

  • Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM two to three times per week
  • Experience in adult outpatient oncology

  • Board Certified in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP)
