Job Summary
Evaluate medication orders for accuracy, resolve discrepancies with physicians and nursing staff, and dispense pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with state and federal laws. Prepare IV admixtures, compound sterile products including hazardous agents, and independently respond to non-evaluative drug information requests. Monitor patient drug therapy to ensure optimal selection and minimize adverse reactions, while reviewing profiles for contraindications and dosage appropriateness. Provide technical supervision of support personnel, verify technician accuracy, and counsel patients on safe medication use in decentralized settings. Maintain perpetual inventory of controlled substances and participate in multidisciplinary quality improvement teams, journal clubs, and community outreach efforts. Requires a PharmD degree, 1-2 years of hospital patient care experience, and RPH licensure. Salary ranges from $102,606 to $196,996 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree PharmD from an accredited college of Pharmacy
- equivalent Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy
- 1-2 years of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting
- RPH - Registered Pharmacist Licensure in the state of practice
