Job Summary

Practice as a clinical pharmacist generalist in patient care areas, ensuring appropriate therapy and institutional outcomes through proactive order review and accurate documentation. Evaluate, intervene, and document clinical interventions per institutional protocols while monitoring drug regimens to prevent drug-related problems. Engage with prescribers, other pharmacists, and leadership for complex situations, utilizing evidence-based literature to optimize care. Precept pharmacy students and residents, participate in medication use evaluations, and oversee staff performance to maintain regulatory compliance. Conduct daily patient profile reviews to assess and recommend drug therapy, manage adverse drug events, and support cost-savings initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • One year of relevant experience
  • Pharmacy Specialty Board certification or ASHP-Accredited Post Graduate Year 1 pharmacy residency preferred
  • Eligible for Georgia Licensure
  • Candidate is required to be licensed in Georgia prior to official start date
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required within 90 days
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months, if directly applicable to practice specialty
  • Lifting 50 lbs max
  • Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs
  • Occasional to frequent standing & walking
  • Occasional sitting
  • Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)

Desired Qualifications

  • One year of relevant experience
  • Pharmacy Specialty Board certification or ASHP-Accredited Post Graduate Year 1 pharmacy residency preferred
  • One year of experience will be waived for candidates who have been employed as student/interns within the Emory Healthcare system
