Job Summary
Review orders for appropriateness, clarify, profile, verify, and dispense them within established standards while assisting with emergent department needs. Perform clinical interventions based on P&T protocols and supply drug information to physicians, nurses, and patients. Evaluate and optimize drug therapy for high-risk patients, providing consultations upon practitioner request. Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives, developing and monitoring ongoing services with the Clinical Coordinator. Comply with regulatory standards and provide recommendations for improvement. Requires a Doctorate in Pharmacy, NJ license, and ACLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in Pharmacy
- 1 year residence or 3 years of clinical pharmacist experience or Board Certification (BPCS)
- Current NJ Pharmacist license
- ACLS Certification
- Strong professional, organizational and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team and patients
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
