CLINICAL PHARMACIST

Job Summary
Interpret medication orders and prescriptions, accurately entering them into computerized patient profiles. Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products. Monitor drug therapy regimens for allergies, contraindications, interactions, and adverse reactions while supporting pharmacoeconomic efforts and antimicrobial stewardship. Provide clinical consultation to practitioners and drug information to patients, document interventions, and manage inventory levels. Supervise pharmacy support personnel and verify technician activities during medication preparation and stocking. Inspect medication areas for proper storage and outdated products, maintaining controlled substance accountability and quality assurance records. Requires current State License as Registered Pharmacist, ICU/Infusion experience, and 3 years hospital setting experience.
Required Qualifications
- 3 Years' experience in a hospital setting
- Current State License as Registered Pharmacist
- Current BLS Certification – American Heart Assoc.
- ICU, Infusion experience required, Critical Care/ICU Medications and Drips
- Familiar with P & T and Antibiotic Stewardship
- Pyxis
- Completion of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy Degree
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent writing and composition skills
- Must type 40-60 wpm
- Excellent computer, MS Office, Outlook, database, and credentialing software skills
- Must have the ability to act on own initiative and be willing to assume responsibility and make decisions
- Ability to interact with and have personal contact with physicians, allied health professionals, and staff
- Professional ability to make verbal/phone contact with a wide variety of people including hospitals, physician's offices, etc.
