Job Summary

Assess and resolve medication-related problems for patients with complex chronic needs by reviewing prescription orders, compounding medications, and ensuring accurate dispensing. Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare providers to address pharmacotherapy issues, explain care plans, and provide clinical recommendations. Oversee pharmacy technicians to manage medication reconciliation, inventory, and security while ensuring all documentation, billing, and coding are properly recorded in proprietary software. Maintain strict compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and fraud prevention protocols, while reporting and rectifying any quality assurance or safety incidents.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Pharmacy
  • A current, active license in the state residing in
  • Must obtain a NJ state license within 180 days of hire
  • 2+ years of experience required in pharmacy distribution and packaging
  • exposure to geriatrics and/or chronic care management
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally through written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical and computer skills to navigate proprietary and other pharmacy software
  • initiative to propose suggestions to improve operations and proprietary system development and enhancements
  • Demonstrated experience with problem-solving, conflict resolution, and project management skills
  • Detail oriented and organized with the ability to work with a sense of urgency, work under pressure, multi-task, and achieve deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Strong analytical skills with good clinical judgement and decision making
  • the ability to effectively and efficiently identify and rectify medication-related problems
  • assess patients using verbal and/or visual cues, when appropriate
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations, including HIPAA and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Must be able to commute to multiple site locations within assigned territory
  • Must be able to work extended hours as needed
  • Rotating holiday schedule required
  • This is a remote position

Desired Qualifications

  • PharmD preferred
  • Experience or strong interest in clinical pharmacogenomics
