Job Summary
Coordinate daily patient census and manage front office functions including scheduling, insurance verification, and charge reconciliation. Greet visitors, route calls, and maintain patient charts while assisting with ancillary testing coordination and transportation. Provide wound-related patient care under RN direction, gather supplies, and perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties after required training. Assist with intake and discharge, document interventions, and report quality issues to the Clinical Nurse Manager. Work in a fast-paced outpatient wound care center environment, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to CMS guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
- Associate's degree
- Graduate from a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Program (CAAHEP) or by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)
- Current CMA, CNA or EMT Certification licensed in the state of employment
- Minimum of Two (2) or more years office administration experience
- Demonstrated competency in BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good customer, interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Organization and time-management skills
- Basic math skills
- Attention to details
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and to work on multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to work with others and in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Preferably in a medical setting, acute hospital, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing unit
- Prior medical coding experience
- Associate's degree preferred
