Job Summary
Greet patients and visitors, check them in by verifying demographic and insurance information, and direct them to exam rooms or surgery scheduling. Manage the front desk by answering calls, handling correspondence, and assisting with ambulatory difficulties or de-escalating upset situations. Perform clinical duties including cleaning and autoclaving instruments, recording vitals, handling specimens, applying casts, and preparing for injection procedures. Ensure operational flow by prepping schedules, obtaining referrals, addressing billing errors, and submitting pre-certifications and authorizations. Maintain a neat workspace, stock supplies, and batch payments at shift end. Work Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM with regular travel and schedule flexibility inherent to the role.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum (1) year in a medical office environment
- Medical office procedures and terminology
- Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office Suite
- Active National Medical Assistant Certification preferred, but not required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with scheduling and billing systems and EMR
- Basic medical assistant skills including phlebotomy, handling of body fluid samples, removal of sutures and staples, and OSHA regulations
