Job Summary
Support the nurse in applying the nursing process and provide direct patient care under RN guidance, including vital signs, personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding. Act as a liaison to report patient changes and participate in hand-offs, data collection, and documentation. Develop critical thinking skills through collaboration and seek educational opportunities related to nursing practice. Perform delegated tasks once competency is validated and escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command. Maintain high-level customer service for patients, families, and staff while adhering to safety standards and infection prevention protocols.
Required Qualifications
- HS/GED
- Currently enrolled in a nursing program
- Completed one clinical nursing course
- Completed one clinical rotation
- Must have completed First Clinical Rotation as a Nursing Student
- Ability to clearly communicate to other members of the healthcare team
- Ability to understand and follow directions of healthcare team
- Knowledge of patient and healthcare safety standards and regulations
- Infection prevention and transmission-based precautions
- Team dynamics
- Compassionate, relationship-based approach in care activities

Desired Qualifications
- BLS
- Recent experience in acute care and/or long term care facility
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training
