Job Summary
Direct daily unit operations as Charge Nurse, assigning staff to patients, triaging admissions, balancing workloads, and leading interdisciplinary rounds. Support department functions by scheduling management, coordinating onboarding, performing chart audits, and assisting with hiring needs. Provide frontline leadership by managing escalations, filling staffing gaps, and ensuring continuity of care. Develop and implement departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with federal and state regulations. Prepare, conduct, and oversee orientation and training for personnel while communicating with staff, physicians, and administration. Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care. Perform direct patient care as needed within scope of practice. Full-time night 12-hour shifts with weekend rotating schedule at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support certificate (BLS) upon hire and maintain current
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current
- Non-OB Facilities – NRP Required 90 days after hire and maintained
- Current STABLE
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care
- Professional Certification within 2 years of hire, preferred
