Job Summary
Direct daily unit operations as Charge Nurse by assigning staff to patients, triaging admissions, balancing workloads, and leading interdisciplinary rounds. Support broader department functions by scheduling management, coordinating onboarding, performing chart audits, and assisting with hiring needs. Provide frontline leadership by managing escalations, filling staffing gaps, and ensuring continuity of care while directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel. Continually assess care plans and direct staff to make immediate changes, performing direct patient care only as needed within scope of practice. Operate under a full-time, 12-hour night shift with weekend rotation at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support certificate (BLS) upon hire and maintain current
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current
- Non-OB Facilities – NRP Required 90 days after hire and maintained
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care
- Professional Certification within 2 years of hire, preferred
