Job Summary
Lead the development of a specialist palliative care framework for Murdoch Community Hospice and provide clinical leadership to internal and external services. Manage pain and symptoms to optimise patient quality of life while acting as a clinical resource for Hospital staff. Coordinate complex patient care, consult with other facilities for telephone advice, and develop outpatient services. Implement evidence-based clinical care, review current practices to improve service efficiency, and coordinate in-service education for caregivers. Participate in research-based quality improvement initiatives and maintain advanced clinical skills within a multi-disciplinary environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Possession of (or substantial progress towards) a relevant postgraduate qualification
- More than five years of experience in specialist palliative care at a senior leadership level
- Knowledge and experience in the EQUIP accreditation process
- Experience in policy development
- Experience in implementing standards and legislative requirements
- Commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and professional standards
- Experience in clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
