Job Summary
Lead the development of a specialist palliative care framework for Murdoch Community Hospice and provide clinical leadership to internal and external services. Optimize patient quality of life by managing pain and symptoms while acting as a clinical resource for Hospital staff. Coordinate outpatient services, initiate care for patients with complex problems, and consult with other facilities for telephone advice and education. Develop and evaluate in-service education for caregivers, and participate in research-based quality improvement initiatives to support professional practice standards. This permanent part-time role requires 60 hours per fortnight and offers a salary of $129,203 per annum pro rata. The position supports local primary care providers across metropolitan and rural Western Australia.
Required Qualifications
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Possession of (or substantial progress towards) a relevant postgraduate qualification
- More than five years of experience in specialist palliative care at a senior leadership level
- Knowledge and experience in the EQUIP accreditation process
- Experience in policy development
- Experience in implementing standards and legislative requirements
- Commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and professional standards
- Experience in clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary setting
