Clinical Nurse Specialist NICU

Job Summary

Lead clinical activities and projects while applying advanced expertise to promote evidence-based practices within the 40-bed Level III NICU. Role model critical thinking, sound nursing judgment, and effective communication to mentor staff in professional growth and evaluate current research for clinical application. Provide clinical expertise to nursing units and programs, participate in program development, and engage in community education through lectures to schools and professional organizations. Requires an MSN, 3–5 years of NICU RN experience, active CNS and RN licenses, NRP and BLS certifications, and a Master's degree in Nursing.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience as an RN in NICU (Level III)
  • Active Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) license with a specialty in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association

Desired Qualifications

  • RNC (Registered Nurse Certified) certification
  • Two (2) years of experience as a NICU Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
