Job Summary
Conduct clinical practice, educate staff, lead initiatives, perform research, and consult on systems to improve patient care outcomes. Serve as an expert in clinical practice, educator, leader, researcher, and consultant across the spheres of patient care, nursing, and systems. Maintain an active Indiana or Nurse Licensure Compact RN license, hold a Master's in nursing, and possess 3-5 years of advanced clinical skills. Complete Basic Life Support certification and obtain additional advanced life support certifications as required by unit policies. Join the new IU Health Fort Wayne hospital opening in May 2027 to build the foundation for high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree of Nursing (BSN)
- Master in nursing as Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
- active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
- meets regulatory requirements to practice as a CNS
- 3-5 years of advanced clinical skills typically gained through nursing experience
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
