Job Summary
The CNS leads advanced nursing/psychiatric nursing practice within Home Care, applying research methods and evidence-based practice to address clinical priorities; participates in clinical practice, education, research, program development, and quality improvement; requires a Master's and active nurse registration, with at least five years of relevant clinical experience, strong leadership, teaching ability, and project-management skills. The role emphasizes collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, adherence to regulatory standards, and ensuring high-quality patient care across Winnipeg sites.
Required Qualifications
- Masters of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing with graduate course work in research methods
- Active registration on the register of practicing nurses as per RHPA/Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act
- Minimum five years of recent clinical experience in nursing/psychiatric nursing roles
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Knowledge of research process and ability to apply research to clinical practice
- Project management skills
- Proficiency with computers/software (Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, databases)
- Understanding of PHIA/WHMIS and related legislated acts
- Ability to teach at individual and group levels
- Ability to adapt to changing situations
