Clinical Nurse Specialist - Adult Acute Care

Job Summary

Support staff new to the clinical setting during their first 90 to 180 days by supervising, evaluating, and establishing competency standards. Facilitate a multi-disciplinary approach to health care while conducting patient care consultations and assessing practice impacts on outcomes. Promote excellence in nursing care through clinical standards of practice and collaborate with physicians to establish collegial relationships. Work within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system spheres to function as a clinical resource. Full-time day shift; requires Master's degree, Alaska RN license, specialty certification, and three years of registered nursing experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree From a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. (NLNAC).
  • Alaska Registered Nurse License
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Current certification in area of specialty (i.e., CEN, CCRN)
  • 3 years Registered nursing experience in area of specialty.
  • 2 years Clinical leadership responsibility.

Desired Qualifications

  • CNS certification in area of specialty
