CLINICAL NURSE

Plan, provide, and direct patient care and teaching on the Oakview locked inpatient behavioral health unit, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. Act as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families while collaborating with other health care members. Deliver crisis intervention, evaluate disturbed behaviors and mental status, stabilize deteriorating psychosocial function, protect patients from self-harm, provide medication support, and lead groups. Assist in the orientation process of new personnel and participate in health center and department committees. Work as a professional caregiver who demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to specific chronological age, developmental age, and/or psycho-social maturity.
