Job Summary
Float between licensed facilities under Loma Linda University Medical Center - Murrieta to cover sick calls, vacations, legislative leaves, and vacancies. Utilize discretion to prioritize, coordinate, and document direct and indirect patient-centered care in a skills mix environment while performing the nursing process with minimal supervision. Delegate tasks to unlicensed staff, troubleshoot patient care equipment, and manage multiple assignments effectively. Participate in on-call rotation based on department needs. This temporary full-time position lasts up to six months.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Diploma Degree in Nursing
- Minimum one year experience in acute care within the last two years
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation
- Ability to speak, read and write legibly in English
- Ability to use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, electronic event reporting program
- Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
- Ability to perform technical patient care activities
- Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others
- Ability to be assertive and consistent in following and enforcing policies
- Ability to lead, supervise, teach and collaborate
- Ability to accept direction
