Provide direct and indirect nursing services to patients and families in a 24-bed Medical ICU, managing critically ill patients with conditions such as CHF, massive MI, and multiple organ failures. Utilize the nursing process to perform individualized assessments, plan care, and evaluate interventions while prioritizing demand for resources and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team. Implement safe, therapeutic care for patients with complex needs, delegate tasks to team members based on competency levels, and serve as a resource for documentation and clinical mentorship. Actively communicate care plans, anticipate problems, and provide age-appropriate patient education to facilitate recovery and discharge planning.
