Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for pre-op, post-op, and PACU patients in a 44-bed unit managing 60-70 cases daily. Promote patient-centered care by educating families on home care needs, medication administration, and managing illness or injury. Collaborate with the interprofessional team to develop individualized plans of care, ensuring communication across the continuum. Use critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs while maintaining a constant state of alertness in this safety-sensitive position. Work nights (1900-0730) with a 3/12 rotation, including 24-hour call every 6 weeks, with an 8-12 week orientation. Preferred critical care or procedural experience aligns with the career ladder's focus on professional development and service excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing Diploma/Associate's
- RN
- Nights 3/12 hour shifts
- 1900-0730
- Call: 24 hours in 6-week period
- 2 holidays per year
- 44 beds, 60-70 cases per day
- Case types: minimally invasive surgery, urology, colorectal, gynecology, bariatric, gender reaffirming, interventional radiology
- Orientation: 8 – 12 weeks of FT training
- Critical care or procedural experience preferred
