Job Summary
Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care. Performs telephone and in-person assessments, develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patients/families, and promotes patient safety and regulatory compliance. Educates patients and families on illness/injury management, post-treatment home care, and medication administration. Participates in professional development and contributes to a healing environment. Role supports RN career ladder progression and offers opportunities to work across multiple Barnes-Jewish Hospital locations with a schedule of 3/10s one week and 4/10s the next, no weekends/holidays/call, and occasional late shifts in a 6-week cycle. Education required includes Nursing Diploma/Associate's; Bachelor's degree preferred. Certifications: RN license; moves toward higher ladder levels with pay alignment per role description. The role emphasizes top-of-license nursing care and collaboration with surgeons and anesthesiologists in a Magnet Hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- RN license in Illinois or eligible to obtain within 60 days of hire
- 2 years RN experience preferred
