Job Summary
Advocate for patients by developing individualized, age-specific, and culturally sensitive nursing plans of care while protecting patient rights and safety. Deliver evidence-based clinical expertise through continuous education, critical thinking, and the implementation of timely nursing interventions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance care plans, mentor new members, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Ensure safe handoffs and escalate situations requiring further intervention. Commit to professional growth by serving as a preceptor, engaging in peer feedback, and adhering to all regulatory and accreditation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher
- Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through American Heart Association
- Analytic ability (conceptual and quantitative)
- Oral, listening and written communication skills
- Strong human relation skills to interact effectively and collaborate with others in difficult situations
- Use of a keyboard to enter or retrieve data
- Assumes personal responsibility for meeting internal (i.e. Best People profile, ELMs, CPR, and health requirements) and external regulatory and accreditation requirements

- Nursing specialty certification, if eligible
