Clinical Nurse Med/Surg

Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on a 43-bed medical/surgical unit while promoting patient and family-centered care in a healing environment. Educate patients and families on illness management, post-treatment home care, and medication administration. Develop and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, ensuring communication across the continuum of care. Use critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, including patient preferences and cultural values. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while engaging in professional development. This safety-sensitive night shift role supports the relationship-based care philosophy at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, which serves families in St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties.
