Clinical Nurse Manager

Job Summary

Oversee nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs by providing leadership, setting performance expectations, and managing recruitment, hiring, and ongoing evaluations. Develop individualized care plans for residents through interdisciplinary collaboration, while monitoring compliance with state and federal regulations via regular audits. Supervise medication administration processes, ensure accurate documentation, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance resident care outcomes and workflow efficiency. Conduct resident assessments, evaluate physical and mental health changes, and implement corrective actions as needed. Deliver educational programs to enhance staff competencies and maintain adherence to nursing standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Must possess and maintain any and all necessary active and unencumbered certifications, degrees, or licenses
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Must be able to read, speak, and understandably write the English language
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
  • Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination if the position requires
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
  • Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served
  • Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace

Desired Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care environment
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in nursing practice, including assessment, care planning, and documentation
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team, promote a positive work environment, and manage conflict effectively
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare technology
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
