Job Summary
Provide leadership to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, ensuring high-quality, resident-centered care. Conduct rounds to monitor resident needs, staff performance, and regulatory compliance while overseeing clinical operations, assessments, care planning, medications, and treatments. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives. Manage staff scheduling, orientation, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions, and coordinate with physicians, therapists, and departments to ensure seamless, interdisciplinary care. Address resident and family concerns promptly and compassionately, maintaining adherence to federal, state, and facility regulations. Full-time, weekday on-call, 8-hour shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN nursing license in the state where work is performed
- CPR certification
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and best practices in long-term care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of healthcare professionals
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of regulatory requirements governing nursing practices and skilled nursing facilities
- Leadership qualities such as integrity, accountability, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment
- Ability to build rapport with patients through a compassionate and caring demeanor
- Stamina to stand and move about the facility to perform frequent rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed
- Capability to lift and transfer residents safely, with proper body mechanics and assistance as needed
- Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing
- Ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
- Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager
- The ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations
