Clinical Nurse Manager 2 - Theatre

Job Summary

Manage theatre nursing operations by leading multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with BSHS standards, and driving service improvement initiatives. Oversee peri-operative workflows, mentor staff, and maintain clinical governance frameworks while utilizing electronic health record systems. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, active NMBI registration, and minimum five years' acute hospital experience including two years in theatre or related specialties. Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse on the General Division of the relevant Nursing Register (e.g. NMBI) with a current valid PIN
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or equivalent recognised qualification)
  • Demonstrated post-registration clinical experience, including experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Proven knowledge of evidence-based practice, quality assurance, and clinical governance frameworks
  • Strong understanding of patient safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g. BSHS standards)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) collaboration skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and service improvement
  • Registered Nurse on the active register of the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
  • Evidence of annual registration with NMBI
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting, with at least 2 years within the specialty or a related clinical area
  • Demonstrated clinical, managerial, and administrative competence to effectively discharge the duties of the role

Desired Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in Nursing Leadership, Management, or a relevant clinical specialty (desirable/essential as per role)
  • Peri-Operative qualification (desirable)
  • Postgraduate course or relevant additional education (desirable)
  • Healthcare Management qualification (desirable)
  • Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems (desirable)
  • Experience in preceptorship, mentoring, or staff development (desirable)
