Job Summary
Provide clinical leadership and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients. Manage and coordinate ICU nursing staff, including roster planning, supervision, performance management, and professional development. Oversee patient care management, ensuring appropriate staffing levels based on acuity and supporting complex clinical decision-making. Lead quality improvement and risk management initiatives, ensuring compliance with HIQA standards and hospital policies. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support effective communication, service development, and optimal patient outcomes. This full-time, permanent role in Cork, Ireland requires an NMBI-registered nurse with at least five years of acute care experience and a commitment to clinical governance. Education assistance, relocation expenses, and flexible working patterns are available.
Required Qualifications
- Registered in the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum 5 years post-registration acute care nursing experience
- significant clinical experience at CNM2 level or equivalent
- Demonstrable commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and clinical governance
- Excellent knowledge of contemporary critical care nursing practice and standards
- Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Proven ability in change management and service development
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of nurse education, staff development, and workforce planning
- Clear vision for the ongoing development and enhancement of ICU services
