Job Summary
The Clinical Nurse II - ED Observation is responsible for implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, and performing treatments and procedures as required. This role includes assessing patient needs, providing emergency care, and collaborating with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, maintain BLS and ACLS certification, and possess knowledge of quality improvement principles. An active New York State RN license and 1-3 years of clinical experience are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred
- Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license
- Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
- Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational and time-management skills
- Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques
Additional Requirements
- Access to information considered sensitive to Albany Med Health System, its patients, affiliates, and partners
- Expected to ensure that access to information is based on a 'need to know' basis
- Must adhere to policies and standards to ensure information is adequately protected from unauthorized access and modification
