Job Summary
Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care to pediatric and adult patients in the PACU, recognizing and responding to changes in condition such as cardiac rhythm or respiratory distress. Monitor patients for anesthesia side effects and observe their level of consciousness throughout sedation recovery. Communicate appropriate information and patient advocacy regarding pre-operative and post-operative conditions to surgeons and anesthesiologists. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to maintain professional nursing standards and participate in performance improvement activities. Requires BSN, NYS RN license, and AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications. Shift runs 6 AM to 6 PM, three times monthly.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years' of acute care experience
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing
- NYS RN license and registration
- AHA BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
Desired Qualifications
- Critical care experience
