Clinical Nurse Educator - Part-time

Job Summary

Administer, plan, develop, direct, evaluate, and coordinate education programs for the Acute Department in alignment with federal, state, and facility policies. Align nursing education delivery with culture change concepts for resident and patient care while managing education-related staff within the District. Demonstrate clinical competency as an RN and serve as an educational resource for nursing staff and students. Complete an approved train-the-trainer course to understand adult learning principles. Requires two years of experience directing educational programs, current Oregon RN license, and certifications in CPR, ACLS, NRP, ENPC, and TNCC. Successful completion of a 500-hour probationary period is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN)
  • Current, unencumbered RN license from the Oregon State Board of Nursing
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current NRP certification
  • Current ENPC certification
  • Current TNCC certification
  • Two (2) years' experience in planning, implementing and directing educational programs for adults in the nursing field
  • Completion of an approved train the trainer course
  • General knowledge regarding federal/state regulations for Acute care facilities
  • Clinical skills competency as a Registered Nurse (RN) in providing care to patient and residents
  • Ability to understand and implement duties within the scope of regulation of the Oregon State Board of Nursing and the Nurse Practice Act (NPA)
  • Ability to comply with facilities policies and processes
  • Ability to prioritize tasks/responsibilities, complete duties/projects within allotted time and to respond to change productively and handle additional tasks/projects as assigned
  • Ability to communicate effectively with resident and patient families, medical staff, nursing staff, students, and other facility departments internally and externally
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of 500-hour probationary period
  • Criminal background check
  • Pre-employment drug screen
