Clinical Nurse Educator - Nursing Excellence Program Coordinator - Part Time Hybrid

Job Summary

Oversee and coordinate nursing excellence initiatives to achieve and maintain Pathway to Excellence designation while promoting Shared Governance. Manage nursing recruitment and retention strategies by monitoring turnover rates and implementing effective interventions. Direct the creation and distribution of the nursing newsletter, organize recognition and award programs, and engage team members through social media. Collaborate with diverse stakeholders including providers, managers, and community groups to advance adult learning principles and nursing leadership standards. Requires flexibility for evening, night, and weekend shifts as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Minimum of 5 years recent experience as a practicing registered nurse or adult nursing educator

Desired Qualifications

  • MSN or master's degree in related field
  • Professional Nursing Certification in area of specialty (for example NPD-BC, NE-BC, CEN)
  • Magnet or Pathway to Excellence experience
  • Able to communicate well with customers (team members, volunteers, providers, managers, peers, community groups, and individuals) both verbally and in writing: able to hear normal conversational tones and read normal print
  • Able to speak clearly and fluently in English
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in nursing practice and knowledge of adult learning principles
  • Demonstrated interest in professional associations and other sources of career and knowledge development
  • Extensive experience in nursing leadership, with a focus on nursing excellence initiatives
  • Knowledge of Pathway to Excellence standards and requirements
  • Strong understanding of Shared Governance principles
  • Experience in nursing recruitment and retention strategies
  • Analytical skills to assess turnover data and implement effective interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated self-direction, creativity, intellectual curiosity, and accountability
  • Able to use PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams independently
  • Able to engage team members through social media
