Job Summary
Clinical Nurse Educator - ER focus at Mercy supports orientation, competency programs, in-service and continuing education, academic partnerships, and career development at the unit level for Mercy coworkers. This salaried, exempt role requires BSN, an active Missouri RN license (or compact) and BLS; ER experience (minimum 2 years) with evidence-based practice knowledge and ability to organize and multitask to meet project deadlines. Preferred: 2 years of teaching experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office and audiovisual equipment; certifications such as CEN/CFRN/CTRN are a plus. The position is based at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO and involves on-site responsibilities with in-person duties. The department is part of the Center of Nursing Excellence, emphasizing education, competency, and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- RN license (Missouri RN license and/or compact licensure)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 2 years of clinical experience in Emergency Department
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice
- Effective organization and multitasking
- Knowledge of nursing equipment/technology
- 2 years teaching experience (preferred)
- Microsoft Office applications proficiency
- Knowledge of audiovisual equipment (advantage)
- Preferred certifications in specialty (e.g., CEN, CFRN, CTRN) (preferred)
- Ability to push/pull/lift 50 lbs; prolonged standing/walking; manual dexterity
