Job Summary
This full-time Clinical Nurse Educator role combines 0.5 FTE department-based education with 0.5 FTE RN duties on 2L Med-Surg/Stroke/Tele, located in Evanston, IL. Responsibilities include direct patient care, serving as a clinical resource and mentor, precepting new staff, leading onboarding and unit-wide education initiatives, promoting continuous professional development and the Novice-to-Expert learning model, collaborating with the Clinical Nurse Manager and Coordinators, designing and evaluating education programs, supporting specialty certification preparation, and traveling to NorthShore hospitals as needed. Requires a Bachelor’s in Nursing with 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, EMR proficiency, strong presentation and teaching abilities, and willingness to participate in ongoing education and system-wide learning activities. Desired master’s degree in nursing; completion of a preceptor program and prior precepting experience are important. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (RN) Required
- Master's Degree in Nursing Preferred
- Completion of a preceptor program and experience as preceptor
- Demonstrated clinical nursing expertise with a minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience in a clinical practice setting
- Proficient with Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Proficiency in setting up virtual meetings and use of AV materials for presentations
- Ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Presentation skills to provide nursing education to nursing audiences in the department
- Ability to conduct literature searches to investigate best practices/evidence-based practice
- Willingness to attend educational seminars and conferences as required
- Leadership and mentoring experience
- Experience as a preceptor
- Evidence-based practice and competency development experience
