Job Summary
Clinical Nurse Educator position in Evanston, IL combines department-based nurse education with direct patient care in the 2L Med-Surg/Stroke/Tele units. Responsibilities include providing just-in-time education, precepting new nurses, onboarding and integration of staff, mentoring, leading educational activities, developing unit-based competency plans, promoting evidence-based practice, supporting specialty certification, coordinating education with Clinical Nurse Manager and Coordinators, and traveling to NorthShore hospitals as needed. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in nursing (Master’s preferred), 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, proficiency with EMR, strong presentation and collaboration skills, and the ability to design and evaluate education programs. The role emphasizes clinical leadership, staff development, and ongoing professional growth within a hospital system.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required)
- 3-5 years nursing clinical experience (minimum)
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Ability to set up virtual meetings and AV for presentations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
- Experience with nursing education, onboarding, and staff development
- Bachelor's/Master's preferred in nursing education or related field (Masters preferred)
- Preceptor program completion and experience as preceptor
